The Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP)
is an academic/extra-scholastic student support and
resources program located on the campus of Fresno State. We are
dedicated to serving students from economically and/or educationally
disadvantaged backgrounds who have an interest in pursuing a career in
the health and allied health professions.
HCOP operates
under the auspices of the
College of Health
and Human Services.
Once
students reach the ranks of our university, as an HCOP student, we offer
you a great deal of resources and assistance to help prepare you become
competitive applicants for medical, dental, pharmacy, physical therapy
and other health/allied professional schools and graduate programs.
The
HCOP office also serves as a hub from which other academic programs are
conducted: The Hispanic Center of Excellence (HCOE) and Louis Stokes
Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP). HCOE has been established
to prepare students from disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds
for medical school and LSAMP for entry into Science, Math, Engineering and Technology graduate/doctoral
programs.
